Purpose of the Job

Principal
Accountabilities

a. Plan & implement effective use of centre resources.
b. Direct & monitor instructors involved in the delivery of the training programme.
c. Liaise with on-job training staff to ensure full compatibility of on-job & off-job training, meet with them regularly, & visit locations where trainees are receiving on-job training.

Training Coordinator

Purpose of the Job

To develop & deliver English language programmes to trainees.

Principal Accountabilities

a. Responsible for the design, development & delivery of Technical English language training to support the training programme.
b. Liaise with the training coordinator on operational issues regarding the planning, scheduling, delivery, & evaluation of English Language Training for the Foundation course.
c. Monitor the Foundation course for in preparation for teaching the trainees after Foundation.
d. Design & teach E-Learning materials for the Foundation course.
e. Teach trainees the agreed syllabus, currently for these teaching sessions per month after Foundation.
f. Prepare materials for the Distance Learning element of the course.
g. Organize trainees for Pitman Elementary exam.
h. Prepare trainees to deliver successful presentations.
i. Follow & apply recognized modern language training methodologies.
j. Maintain trainee records regarding language training.

To develop & deliver & monitor on-job training of technicians in Mechanical Maintenance & to assess them for competence.

Principal Accountabilities

a. Develop & deliver Mechanical Maintenance on-job training as required to develop electrical technicians to meet Company competence requirements.
b. Assess effectiveness of training delivered against competence requirements
c. Record & report trainees progress against the training plans.
d. Ensure that trainees logbooks are accurately maintained.
e. Liaise with off-job instructors to ensure that the on-job training is relevant & compatible with off-job training.
f. Undertake such further duties as required to facilitate or enhance company training activities.

Requirements of Incumbent

Engineering Knowledge & skills

a. Full knowledge & practical ability in Mechanical Maintenance over the whole range of oil/gas industry equipment.
b. Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
c. Minimum of 10 years post-training industrial experience of Mechanical Maintenance in the oil/gas Industry.

Training skills

a. Ability to plan & deliver effective & specific on-job training.
b. Has had formal training as an instructor & holds a training qualification, holds an NVQ D32/33 or A1 assessor qualification & preferably a D34 or V1 internal verifier’s qualification.
c. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Mechanical on-job trainer & preferably has experience as an instructor in a classroom and workshop environment & in the preparation of training materials.


Communication in English

a. Very good speaking & writing skills in English.
b. Good IT skills.
c. Knowledge & experience of MS Office packages.
